Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 21, 2026
Last Updated: August 21, 2026

Mortgage Pal ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Mortgage Pal mobile applications (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy covers both:

  • Mortgage Pal for Apple iOS and iPadOS, available on the App Store
  • Mortgage Pal – Loan Calculator for Android, available on Google Play (package com.appeum.mortgagecalculatorprotools)

The apps are free to use and supported by advertising. This Privacy Policy describes what information is collected when you use the Service, how it is used and shared, and the choices and rights you have.

By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The Short Version

Mortgage Pal has no accounts and no sign-in, and we do not operate servers that store your information. Every figure you enter — purchase prices, incomes, interest rates, saved results and notes — stays on your device and is never sent to us. We cannot see your calculations.

The one meaningful data collection connected with the apps comes from the advertising they display, which is delivered by Google AdMob. That is described in full below.

Information Collection and Use

Information Stored Only on Your Device

The following never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else:

  • Everything you enter into a calculator — purchase prices, down payments, interest rates, loan terms, income, debts, property taxes, insurance, fees and similar figures
  • Saved calculation results and any notes you attach to them
  • Your app preferences, such as your selected currency

This information is held in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting the app removes it, and you can also clear entries at any time using the app's own "Clear All" and delete controls.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address or phone number — unless you choose to email us for support
  • We do not operate a backend service that receives or stores your calculations
  • We do not use analytics or crash-reporting services in the apps
  • We do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise (GPS) location
  • We do not sell or rent personal information

Advertising

The apps display advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To serve, cap and measure those ads — and to detect fraud and invalid traffic — Google may collect and process:

  • Advertising identifiers: your device's Android Advertising ID, or Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) where permitted
  • Approximate location: derived from your IP address. The apps never request GPS or precise location permission
  • Device and app information: such as device model, operating system version, language, and app version
  • Ad interaction data: such as which ads were requested, shown, viewed or tapped

The apps request non-personalized ads, meaning advertisements are selected using general context rather than profiles built from your interests or browsing history. Google may still process limited data — including the advertising identifier — for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregate reporting, fraud prevention and security, as described in its own policies.

Google acts as an independent party in this processing. For details of how Google handles this information, see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

On Android, if you are located in a region where consent is legally required, the app presents a Google-certified consent message before advertising is initialised, and your choice is applied to how ads are requested. You can review or change that choice at any time from within the app.

Controlling Ad Tracking on Your Device

  • Android: Settings › Google › All services › Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID
  • iOS: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking, and Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising

In-App Purchases

The iOS app offers an optional one-time "Lifetime Ad Free Pro" purchase that removes advertising. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see or receive your payment details. Purchase status is managed through RevenueCat, which processes an anonymous app-generated identifier together with the purchase receipt so that your purchase can be restored on your devices.

The Android app does not currently offer any in-app purchases. If that changes, this Privacy Policy will be updated before the feature is released.

Mortgage Rate Data

The apps include a rates screen that displays published United States mortgage rate data retrieved from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis (FRED) service. These requests retrieve public rate information only. No information about you or your calculations is included in them; as with any internet request, the receiving server can see your device's IP address.

Third-Party Services

The apps use the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:

Support Requests

If you contact us from within the app, your message reaches us by email together with your email address and a short technical footer (app name, app version, device model and operating system version) so that we can help you. We keep support correspondence only for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.

Security

We are committed to protecting your information using commercially acceptable means. Our approach includes:

  • Local data storage: your calculations and financial figures are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us
  • No accounts: we hold no user accounts, passwords or profiles that could be compromised
  • Encrypted connections: network requests made by the apps, such as advertising and rate data, use encrypted HTTPS connections
  • Data minimisation: the apps request no device permissions beyond what is needed to function
  • Vetted providers: we rely only on established third-party providers that maintain their own security and privacy standards

Please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

Mortgage Pal is a financial tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information in connection with the Service, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Data Retention

Because we operate no accounts and keep no server-side copy of your information, there is no store of your data on our systems to retain or delete. To remove everything the apps hold, delete the app from your device or use the built-in clearing controls.

Information processed by Google in connection with advertising is retained according to Google's own policies, linked above. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time using the device settings described in the Advertising section.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding personal information relating to you:

  • Right to Access: to request copies of personal information held about you
  • Right to Rectification: to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Right to Erasure: to request deletion of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • Right to Restrict Processing: to request that processing be restricted, under certain conditions
  • Right to Object: to object to processing of your personal data, under certain conditions
  • Right to Data Portability: to request transfer of collected data to you or another organisation, under certain conditions

Because we do not hold personal information about you ourselves, requests of this kind will usually concern data processed by Google in connection with advertising, and we will direct you to the appropriate controls or provider where necessary. To make a request, contact us at hello@mortgagepal.co. We aim to respond within one month.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to Know: to request disclosure of what personal information is collected, used, disclosed or sold
  • Right to Delete: to request deletion of your personal information
  • Right to Opt-Out: to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. Advertising identifiers processed for advertising purposes may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; because the apps request non-personalized ads, this processing is limited, and you can further limit it by resetting or deleting your advertising identifier using the device settings described above
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@mortgagepal.co.

Do Not Track Signals

Mortgage Pal is a mobile application and does not track your browsing activity across websites, so browser-based Do Not Track ("DNT") signals do not apply. Device-level advertising controls, described in the Advertising section, are the appropriate mechanism on mobile.

International Data Transfers

The third-party providers described in this policy, including Google and Apple, operate globally and may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Those transfers are governed by the providers' own policies and safeguards.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when the apps change or when legal requirements evolve. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we encourage you to review this page periodically. Changes are effective when posted.
